Cory walked down an empty parking lot. It was quiet the sky was clear of clouds but full of stars. Standing there alone under the twinkling lights he remembered the conversation he had with Blake. Cory's hand shook as he remembered how hard he punched Blake. Cory wasn't a violent person. Not anymore anyway, but Blake caught him off guard. Cory was not expecting a kiss, but as his fist ached with pain, his lips tingled with excitement as he remembered the kiss.

Cory shook his head as if that would help him forget the kiss, but what really bothered him was the fact that he punched Blake. Cory looked up at the stars and wished he could take it back but he knew he couldn't. He wished Blake could take back the kiss so that none of this ever happened. But nothing happened he just stood there alone and feeling small.

Cory really needed a friend right now. The reason he was upset was because his girlfriend had just broken up with him over the phone. Cory was crushed and he started drinking again after being sober for many years. Cory thought that a few beers would ease the pain but it made him feel worse. Cory did not want to be alone with his thought and he knew Blake would be there in his trailer.

So when Cory got home he just needed someone to hold him, to tell him everything will be okay. Blake did that with more than words. It was awkward for Cory because he just saw Blake as a friend but it was clear to him now that Blake saw him as something more.

Cory remembered the kiss again and it made him smiled. As shocking as the kiss was it did make him feel better. It made him forget about her. Cory’s world began to crumble as he remembered what she said to him over the phone.

“I’m breaking up with you.” Her voice echoed in his ear.

Cory was so heartbroken after that call that he threw his cell phone on the ground and the screen cracked. The screen no longer turned on. I'm such and idiot! Cory said to himself as he looked at his phone.

Cory began to feel really cold. It was a chilly night and he wanted to go to sleep. Cory started walking back to the trailer trying to come up with the courage to face Blake after what had just happened. Once he made it to the trailer Cory reached for the door handle, he grabbed it, paused, took in a deep breath and opened the door.

Cory walked in to find Blake packing his suite case. Cory looked at Blake, and Blake looked at Cory. Their lips tingled with desire.

"I'm sorry I…" Blake started but he couldn’t finish his sentence.

Blake’s eyes began tearing up. Cory looked at Blake and he knew deep down inside that he felt something for him but was unsure what it was exactly. Why did Cory desperately want to kiss Blake again? Was it his eyes? His lips? Or was it just because of the alcohol?

Cory’s break up caused him so much pain that he started drinking again but no matter how much he drank he could not drown the pain and make it go away. Cory’s world was on fire and he thought no one could save him. But Blake's kiss helped him forget all that for a while. A two second kiss was all it took. Cory couldn't help but wonder what a five second kiss would do.

Cory walked up to Blake and leaned in towards him. Blake was still trying to find the right words to finish his sentence. When Blake saw Cory leaning towards him he braced himself for another punch. Cory’s hand came up towards Blake’s face and Blake flinched unsure of Cory's intentions. Cory gently touched Blake’s mildly bruised cheek and then got close to Blake's ear.

"Don't go, stay with me." Cory whispered into Blake's ear.

The warmth of Cory's mouth eased the pain of the punch. Blake leaned back to look at Cory, their eyes now locked with each other. Their broken hearts understood each other. They both ached with loneliness. Blake still struggled to finish his sentence, when the right words finally popped into his head he was unable to say them because Cory was kissing him hard.

They decided without saying a word to put out their old flames out and start fresh. As they continued to kiss, a new flame was started but neither of them knew it yet.

Blake and Cory at this very moment no longer felt alone. Their pain was nothing but a distant star now; it’s there if they look for it but too far to burn them again. Cory ended the kiss.

"What was that for?" Blake asked.

"I wanted to return your kiss back." Cory said as he took a step back.

That was not the reason why Cory kissed him. Cory kissed Blake because it helped him forget about her. Cory knew if he told Blake this it would hurt him, so he lied.

Blake looked at Cory not sure what to make of what Cory had just said. Then he took a step forward and kissed Cory back. This kiss caught Cory by surprise just like the first. Cory just stood there and let Blake kiss him, something about Blake’s surprise kisses made Cory crazy for more. Blake pulled away slowly.

"I don't want it back." Blake said.

Cory just stood there looking at Blake. Cory could not explain these new feelings he was having. He had never felt this way for another guy before. Why now? Why him? Cory asked himself. Cory did not want to fall in love with Blake. His heart could not take another fall.

Cory’s knees started to shake as he looked at Blake. He wanted to kiss Blake again but a voice in his head told him it was a bad idea. Someone could end up getting hurt. Cory knew that that someone would end up being Blake.

Cory struggled with his thoughts because alcohol was still in his system. Cory knew that whatever was going on right now with him and Blake was wrong for many reasons, even though it felt so right. So Cory looked at Blake and opened his mouth to say,

“You can’t stay here anymore.”
